Cyclist Dies After Charity Race Collapse

A cyclist has died after collapsing during the RideLondon charity event through the capital and Surrey. Kris Cook, 36, collapsed at Newlands Corner, Guildford, from a sudden cardiac arrest, a statement by the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 said. Doctors at the scene rushed to him, but Mr Cook was later pronounced dead in hospital after attempts to revive him failed. Mr Cook was part of a group of a dozen riders raising money for Woking Hospice.
