Scientists in Cardiff are helping the Nepal rescue efforts by trying to identify areas which may have been worst affected by landslides. Dr Robert Parker and his team from Cardiff University have developed a computer programme called ShakeSlide which maps zones most at risk of landslides. Dr Parker explained: "Saturday's earthquake in Nepal occurred in one of the world's most landslide-prone regions. The World Bank is one of the organisations working with Dr Parker, alongside disaster assessment teams in Nepal.
