A British man accused of helping to trigger a multi-billion dollar US stock market crash has been remanded in custody while he tries to raise millions of pounds for bail. The US authorities have put in a request to Britain for the extradition of Navinder Singh Sarao, 36, over allegations he helped cause the 2010 Wall Street "Flash Crash" from a house in west London. The former bank worker and Brunel University student, who lives in Hounslow with his parents, was released on bail by Westminster Magistrates' Court last week but had to return to court because he had not raised the requisite £5m security. Wearing a grey tracksuit, he confirmed his address and date of birth as defence lawyer Joel Smith asked the court to grant a seven-day bail extension.
