Sky News has seen evidence of schools planning to cut staff, school trips and activities such as music and theatre - despite promises by the main parties to protect school budgets. John Tomsett, Head Teacher at Huntington School in York, told Sky News: "People are not being straight with us. Both Tory and Labour manifestos promise to ring-fence school budgets. Neither party takes into account rises in National insurance payments and pension contributions that schools will have to find from existing budgets.
