Iain Duncan Smith will remain in charge of the Government's welfare reforms as Work and Pensions Secretary, the PM has announced. He is one of a number of senior Conservative MPs who have kept their jobs in the Cabinet, including Chancellor George Osborne, Home Secretary Theresa May, Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, Education Secretary Nicky Morgan and Defence Secretary Michael Fallon. Mr Duncan Smith's first five years in the role were marked by issues with the implementation of the Universal Credit system and anger over cuts to disability payments. David Cameron, who restored Michael Gove to the top of government on Saturday as Justice Secretary and Lord Chancellor, will address the influential 1922 Committee of backbench Conservative MPs on Monday as he seeks to get his second term off to a good start.
