Boy Lost Hair After Islamic School Beatings

Two teachers at an Islamic school have been jailed for beating a 10-year-old boy so badly that he started losing his hair through stress. Mohammed Siddique, 60, and his 24-year-old son Mohammed Waqar were sentenced to a year in prison after pleading guilty to wilful cruelty during lessons at Sparkbrook Islamic Centre in Birmingham. He said at Birmingham Crown Court: "This is not a case where you each overreacted only once to provocation, neither is it a case in which you misunderstood what constitutes proper punishment and therefore requires some guidance from probation services as to where that boundary lies.
