Figures from the Health and Social Care Information Centre show just 9% of two to four-year-olds meet the current guidelines of three hours of physical activity per day. The British Heart Foundation National Centre (BHFNC), based at Loughborough University, is now calling for national policy to include exercise for toddlers. The centre wants to see health professionals track the physical activity levels of children during their early years.
