Students at Oxford University have accused Oriel College's governing body of selling out to "wealthy alumni" following its announcement that it would not consider removing a statue of the imperialist Cecil Rhodes. Oriel College, which owns the statue, announced last week that a consultation process had received "overwhelming support" for the memorial and that it would not be removing either the statue or a separate private plaque.
