Hotel Du Lac Author Anita Brookner Dies Aged 87

The death of bestselling novelist Anita Brookner has been announced in The Times. The 87-year-old, who died last Thursday, won the Booker Prize in 1984 for Hotel Du Lac. Dr Brookner was born in London and studied art history - later becoming the first female Slade professor of art at the University of Cambridge.
