Fears Of Shortages As School Places Allocated

Thousands of parents will find out today where their children will be going to primary school, amid warnings that a shortage of places in England may leave some families disappointed. Sanj Montgomery wants her daughter Mia to go to a nearby primary which has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted - and the topic has dominated conversation in the parks and playgrounds for months. The party claims there are nearly 100 "titan" primary schools with more than 800 pupils - and is warning Conservative plans to convert all schools into academies will make the system "implode", as councils will lose their powers to make sure there are enough places for children.
