Safety Fears Force Edinburgh Schools To Close

Seventeen schools across Edinburgh will temporarily close from Monday after serious construction issues were discovered late on Friday. Authorities acted after Edinburgh Schools Partnership (ESP), which manages the schools, was unable to guarantee the structural safety of the buildings. Edinburgh Council says the issues emerged during repairs on Oxgangs Primary School, where part of a wall blew off during strong winds in January.
