Academies U-Turn: Government Backs Down

The Government has backed down on its plans to force all schools in England to become academies. Announcing the U-turn, Education Secretary Nicky Morgan said the Government had "listened" to opposition from MPs, including from some on its own backbench, and from the education sector.
