Tory MPs Fight Back Over Osborne Brexit Budget

The Chancellor has been hit by a bitter Tory backlash before he even had the chance to unveil plans for a "punishment Budget" to hit families with tax hikes if the UK votes Brexit. George Osborne is today on the campaign trail with his Labour predecessor Alistair Darling to claim leaving the EU would leave a black hole in the nation's finances triggering income tax and inheritance tax rises in an emergency Budget. The Chancellor will also threaten to cut the NHS budget by £2.5bn, defence by £1.2bn, and education spending down by £1.15bn, in a move which goes against pledges made in the Conservative manifesto.
